The 8th edition of the loho meets was held at the Gem farms near by the Maaya jaal chennai. The Chennai chapter were the organizers behind the meet. We were accomodated at the Green coconut resorts at the same ECR road near the venue. This resort is owned by our local sitting M.P. J.M.Haaroon. Big sorts like V.Sampath of V.I.T were organisers behind this event. The started on the 22nd of this month and ended on the 24th of this month. The only reason for me 2 attend this meet was: we were informed that, we will be taken to the Loyola college and the Loyola college hostel. So, here i was. Back at the place which was home to for a period of 4 years from 1985 to 1989. We shared some of the nostalgic moments with our wives and children. We showed around the mess and rooms we stayed. Culturals were organized for us and family members at hostel premises, i.e., the Sauliere hall. During the business session Father Reverend Casimir Raj made an appeal for donations from the old students for the hostel premises. I was wondering about the rationale behind the recognition for the LOHO meets. So, now it was plain, as the institution was cash cramped they resorted to appeal to us old students. Wonder, what they did with all the foreign funds that is pouring in??? Now the present room level is 600 and they want to increase it by 5 times. 3000 rooms at least. The cost of one room is around 1.5 lakhs. Contributors will be get their names etched if the amount is more than 1.5 lakhs.
