This too shall pass!!!

*This Too Shall Pass:-***
*
------------------------------
*

Once a king called upon all of his wise men and asked them, ” Is there a
mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every circumstances,
in every place and in every time. In every joy, every sorrow, every defeat
and every victory? One answer for all questions? Something which can help me
when none of you is available to advise me? Tell me is there any mantra?”

All the wise men were puzzled by the King’s question. They thought and
thought. After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which
appealed to all of them. They went to the king and gave him something
written on paper, with a condition that the king was not to see it out of
curiosity. Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and
there seems to be no way, only then he can see it. The King put the papers
under his Diamond ring.

Some time later, the neighbors attacked the Kingdom. King and his army
fought bravely but lost the battle. The King had to flee on his horse. The
enemies were following him. getting closer and closer. Suddenly the King
found himself standing at the end of the road – that road was not going
anywhere. Underneath there was a rocky valley thousand feet deep. If he
jumped into it, he would be finished…and he could not return because it was
a small road…the sound of enemy’s horses was approaching fast. The King
became restless. There seemed to be no way.

Then suddenly he saw the Diamond in his ring shining in the sun, and he
remembered the message hidden in the ring. He opened the diamond and read
the message. The message was – ” THIS TOO SHALL PASS”

The King read it . Again read it. Suddenly something struck him- Yes ! This
too will pass. Only a few days ago, I was enjoying my kingdom. I was the
mightiest of all the Kings. Yet today, the Kingdom and all his pleasure have
gone. I am here trying to escape from enemies.

Like those days of luxuries have gone, this day of danger too will pass. A
calm came on his face. He kept standing there. The place where he was
standing was full of natural beauty. He had never known that such a
beautiful place was also a part of his Kingdom.

The revelation of the message had a great effect on him. He relaxed and
forgot about those following him. After a few minutes he realized that the
noise of the horses and the enemy coming was receding. They moved into some
other part of the mountains and were not near him.

The King was very brave. He reorganized his army and fought again. He
defeated the enemy and regained his empire. When he returned to his empire
after victory, he was received with much fanfare. The whole capital was
rejoicing in the victory. Everyone was in festive mood.

Flowers were being showered on King from every house, from every corner.
People were dancing and singing. For a moment King said to himself,” I am
one of the bravest and greatest King. It is not easy to defeat me. With all
the reception and celebration he saw an ego emerging in him.Suddenly the
Diamond of his ring flashed in the sunlight and reminded him of the message.
He open it and read it again: “*THIS TOO SHALL PASS”*.

He became silent. His face went through a total change -from the egoist he
moved to a state of utter humbleness. If this too is going to pass, it is
not yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours. You are just
a watcher. Everything passes by. We are witnesses of all this. We are the
perceivers. Life comes and goes. Happiness comes and goes. Sorrow comes and
goes.

Now as you have read this story, just sit silently and evaluate your own
life. This too will pass. Think of the moments of joy and victory in your
life. Think of the moment of Sorrow and defeat. Are they permanent? They all
come and passes away.

*Life just passes away. There is nothing permanent in this world. Every
thing changes except the law of change. Think over it from your own
perspective. You have seen all the changes. You have survived all setbacks,
all defeats and all sorrows. All have passed away. The problems in the
present, they too will pass away. Because nothing remains forever. Joy and
sorrow are the two faces of the same coin. They both will pass away.*

**

*You are just a witness of change. Experience it, understand it, and enjoy
the present moment -THIS TOO SHALL PASS!*

Brain - Blood clot - for everyone's safety. Spread the Message

Please have a look....This 5 min may save a life and lots of tears.....

You could save a life.

STROKE:
Remember The 1st Three Letters... S.T.R ..

My friend sent this to me and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a
party, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. (they offered to call ambulance)

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at
6:00pm , Ingrid passed away.)
She had suffered a stroke at the
party . Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today.

Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Remember the '3' steps,
STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster.

The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking
three simple questions :

S
* Ask the individual to SMILE ..
T
* = TALK.
Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (eg 'It is sunny out today').
R
* Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

NOTE
: Another 'sign' of a stroke is
1.
Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue.
2.
If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke.

A prominent cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

and it could be your own..

spirit of CHRISTmas

The Dime
Bobby was getting cold sitting out in his back yard in the snow. Bobby didn't wear boots; he didn't like them and anyway he didn't own any. The thin sneakers he wore had a few holes in them and they did a poor job of keeping out the cold. Bobby had been in his backyard for about an hour already.  And, try as he might, he could not come up with an idea for his mother's Christmas gift.

He shook his head as he thought, "This is useless, even if I do come up with an idea, I don't have any money to spend."

Ever since his father had passed away three years ago, the family of five had struggled. It wasn't because his mother didn't care, or try, there just never seemed to be enough. She worked nights at the hospital, but the small wage that she was earning could only be stretched so far. What the family lacked in money and material things, they more than made up for in love and family unity.

Bobby had two older and one younger sister, who ran the house hold in their mother's absence. All three of his sisters had already made beautiful gifts for their mother. Somehow it just wasn't fair. Here it was Christmas Eve already, and he had nothing.

Wiping a tear from his eye, Bobby kicked the snow and started to walk down to the street where the shops and stores were. It wasn't easy being six without a father, especially when he needed a man to talk to. Bobby walked from shop to shop, looking into each decorated window. Everything seemed so beautiful and so out of reach.

It was starting to get dark and Bobby reluctantly turned to walk home when suddenly his eyes caught the glimmer of the setting sun's rays reflecting off of something along the curb. He reached down and discovered a shiny dime. Never before has anyone felt so wealthy as Bobby felt at that moment.

As he held his new-found treasure, a warmth spread throughout his entire body and he walked into the first store he saw. His excitement quickly turned cold when the salesperson told him that he couldn't buy anything with only a dime. He saw a flower shop and went inside to wait in line.

When the shop owner asked if he could help him, Bobby presented the dime and asked if he could buy one flower for his mother's Christmas gift. The shop owner looked at Bobby and his ten-cent offering. Then he put his hand on Bobby's shoulder and said to him, "You just wait here and I'll see what I can do for you."

As Bobby waited he looked at the beautiful flowers and even though he was a boy, he could see why mothers and girls liked flowers. The sound of the door closing as the last customer left, jolted Bobby back to reality.

All alone in the shop, Bobby began to feel alone and afraid. Suddenly the shop owner came out and moved to the counter. There, before Bobby's eyes, lay twelve long stem, red roses, with leaves of green and tiny white flowers all tied together with a big silver bow.

Bobby's heart sank as the owner picked them up and placed them gently into a long white box. "That will be ten cents young man." the shop owner said reaching out his hand for the dime. Slowly, Bobby moved his hand to give the man his dime. Could this be true? No one else would give him a thing for his dime!

Sensing the boy's reluctance, the shop owner added, "I just happened to have some roses on sale for ten cents a dozen. Would you like them?" This time Bobby did not hesitate, and when the man placed the long box into his hands, he knew it was true. Walking out the door that the owner was holding for Bobby, he heard the shop keeper say, "Merry Christmas, son."

As he returned inside, the shop keeper's wife walked out. "Who were you talking to back there and where are the roses you were fixing?"

Staring out the window, and blinking the tears from his own eyes, he replied, "A strange thing happened to me this morning. While I was setting up things to open the shop, I thought I heard a voice telling me to set side a dozen of my best roses for a special gift. I wasn't sure at the time whether I had lost my mind or what, but I set them aside anyway. Then just a few minutes ago, a little boy came into the shop and wanted to buy a flower for his mother with one small dime.

"When I looked at him, I saw myself, many years ago. I too, was a poor boy with nothing to buy my mother a Christmas gift. A bearded man, whom I never knew, stopped me on the street and told me that he wanted to give me ten dollars.

"When I saw that little boy tonight, I knew who that voice was, and I put together a dozen of my very best roses." The shop owner and his wife hugged each other tightly, and as they stepped out into the bitter cold air, they somehow didn't feel cold at all.

May this story instill the spirit of CHRISTmas in you enough to pass this act along.  Have a Joyous and Christ-filled season

“Can Do” versus “Can’t Do”

“Can Do” versus “Can’t Do”
There’s something about the word “can’t” that raises the hairs on our necks. Maybe we don’t like limits being set for us. Maybe we are just rebellious kids at heart.

Think about it. You hear the word “can’t” and immediately your internal conversations start with:
Why not? … See. I knew she wouldn’t listen … Oh yeah, just watch me!

Regardless, all of us would do well to heed the advice of communication specialists and minimize our use of the word “can’t.” Tell people what you CAN do – what they CAN do. Here are some examples: “You can have your vacation June 19.” “What I can do for you is .…” “Here’s what you can do….” “Tell me what you think you can do in this situation.”

Sounds like a small shift, but it is the small things in communication that make all the difference in the world. We’re so accustomed to using “can’t” that this switch will require discipline. It takes practice but it’s well worth the effort. The difference between CAN and CANNOT is shorter in letters, but longer in result.

Ans: Mother Theresa , who was my patient

Qn: Can people with low blood pressure suffer heart diseases?

Ans: Extremely rare

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?

Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So, does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs in the house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair and sitting helps a lot.

Qn: Is there a relation between heart problems and blood sugar?

Ans: Yes. A strong relationship since diabetics are more vulnerable to heart attacks than non-diabetics.

Ans : Diet, exercise, drugs on time , Control cholesterol, BP, weight.

Qn: Are people working on night shifts more vulnerable to heart disease when compared to day shift workers?

Ans : No.

Qn: What are the modern anti-hypertensive drugs?

Ans : There are hundreds of drugs and your doctor will chose the right combination for your problem, but my suggestion is to avoid the drugs and go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to
reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

Ans : Nature protects women till the age of 45. (Present Global census show that the Percentage of heart disease in women has increased than in men )

Qn: How can one keep the heart in a good condition?

Ans : Eat a healthy diet, avoid junk food, exercise everyday, do not smoke and, go for health checkup s if you are past the age of 30 ( once in six months recommended) ....

“Power of One”

Harnessing Your “Power of One”
Your thoughts, words, and actions are like individual notes that work in concert to create the power of one person – YOU – to make a difference. You can harness your “power of one” if you simply:
  • Catch one negative thought and turn it into a positive one;
  • Think of one thing for which you are grateful at the beginning of each day;
  • Say one “Fantastic!” when a friend or team member asks how you are doing;
  • Assume the best in one upcoming situation;
  • Keep on moving one more time when you experience adversity;
  • Help one friend or colleague in a time of need – and take pride in it.

The cobra

I had a chance to read this new novel by Frederick forsyth.  Uncle Sam suddently decides that cocaine is the new menace and hires Paul Deveraux to fight the menace.  He in turn recruits Cal Dexter of the Avenger fame.  Both of them hunt through the evil world of cartel in the high seas, in the Africas, the Europe.

As the election draws nearer the Chief of staff looks for a scape goat none other than Paul himself.  The war against the cartel draws to a close.  The embittered Paul levels with the Don himself and in the final scenario is outwitted for the second time by his second in command Cal Dexter of the 'tunnel rats' fame.

If you had thought that fundamentalism is the new menace, you will give a second thought about the novel description.  I was really saddened by the end of Paul.  Really, it is the system that is the culprit and Paul.

How to improve your Life

GUIDE TO A BETTER LIFE - DR RANDY PAUSCH
This is amazing, he died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, but wrote a book ‘The last lecture” before then, one of the bestsellers in 2007.  What a legacy to leave behind.

POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Personality:

3. Don't over do; keep your limits
4. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does
5. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip
6. Dream more while you are awake
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.

11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you

“ ….weekend was too short and I have to come back here to work”.
16.  Be happy, be grateful, But don’t be content.  There are a lot more others, who would sacrifice a lot to be in your place.

24. What other people think of you is none of your business. You cannot control how others feel.
25. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:

26. Put GOD first in anything and everything that you think, say and do.
27. GOD heals everything
28. Do the right things
29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. Nothing could ever remain the same
30. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up
31. The best is yet to come
32. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful
33. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it

BEFORE YOU PROMISE

Before You Promise …

A fairly common saying (and excellent guideline) in the customer service arena is “Under Promise and Over Deliver.” People prefer to do business with companies and organizations that exceed expectations. This requires making and keeping promises carefully. Before you commit to something – whether it be for a customer or a member of your team – ask these questions:
  • Can I really do this?
  • Is there someone more appropriate?
  • Can I do it in the promised time?
  • Can I do this well?
  • Will I do this with enthusiasm?

Mahatma Gandhi 1869-1948

Leader of the Indian Nationalist movement against British rule, Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi is revered as the father of his country. He is esteemed internationally for his doctrine of nonviolence to achieve political and social progress.
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
“Nonviolence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart, and it must be an inseparable part of our being.”
“Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent than the one derived
from fear of punishment.”

Subject: Serious Warning - Travelling to or via Dubai

A very very serious warning ..
Dear Friends,

I  understand from a friend's mail that someone travelling to UK via Dubai was carrying a packet of Khas Khas which is a commonly used spice in some Indian curries and sweets.

This innocent person did not know that recently the laws in UAE and other Gulf countries have been revised and carrying Khas Khas is punishable with minimum 20 years of imprisonment or even worse with death penalty . Currently, the person is in a Dubaijail  for the last two weeks. His friends are frantically trying hard for his release but are finding that this has become a very very serious case. Lawyers seem to be asking huge fees amounting to AED 100,000 even to appear in the court to plead for his innocence.

Please forward this email to all you know specially in India . They should know the seriousness of this matter and should avoid carrying even minutest quantities of the following items when traveling to or via Gulf countries:

1. Khas Khas whether raw, roasted or cooked.
2. Paan
3. Beetle nut (supari and its products, e.g. Paan Parag etc.)

The penalties are very severe and it could destroy the life of an innocent person.

10 Rules for High Performance Teamwork

Excerpted from Pulling Together: 10 Rules for High Performance Teamwork
by John J. Murphy

Lessons From the Geese
Consistent application of the 10 rules of high performance teamwork ultimately generates trust, respect, unity and power within any team. Conversely, consistent violation of any one rule destroys this bond. While the author of the following is unknown, "Lessons From the Geese" is a powerful illustration from nature of the rules of high performance teamwork. As you read about the natural unity that exists among this species remember — this same unity can exist in your organization!
As geese flap their wings, they create an uplift for the bird following. By flying in a V formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if any bird were to fly alone. If we share a common direction and a sense of community, we can get where we are going more quickly and easily because we are traveling on the thrust of one another!
Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to fly alone, and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front. If we have as much sense as geese, we will stay in formation with those who are headed where we want to go, and we will be willing to accept their help as well as give ours to others.
When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back into formation and another goose flies at the point position. If we take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership as with the geese, we become interdependent with one another. The geese in formation honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. If we "honk," we need to make sure it is positive and encouraging.
When a goose gets sick or wounded or is shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it is able to fly again or dies. They then launch out on their own, with another formation or catch up with the flock. If we have as much sense as geese, we too will stand by each other in difficult times, as well as when we are strong. Let us all try to fly in formation and remember to drop back to help those who might need it!
BEHOLD THE POWER OF TEAMWORK
The greatest accomplishments in life are not achieved by individuals alone, but by proactive people pulling together for a common good. Look behind every winner and you will find a great coach. Look out in front of every superstar and you will see a positive role model. Look alongside every great achiever and you will find caring people offering encouragement, support and able assistance. Rising to this level of interdependent thinking can be challenging and difficult. Looking beyond oneself, asking for help or accepting help can feel risky. But people are not given life to simply take from one another. We are here to give. Our mission in life is to offer our gifts to benefit one another, to create mutual gain in the world. This is called teamwork, a win/win mindset stemming from a genuine commitment to the rules that allow it to happen.

Inside the world's biggest private jet with 4-poster beds, Turkish bath... and a place to park the Rolls

In a space normally given to 600 passengers, the owner and his guests will enjoy five-star treatment from the moment of arrival.

After driving up to his plane, he will have the car parked in the onboard garage.
A lift drops to the tarmac and a red carpet unfurls, with downlights to 'give the impression of turning up at the Oscars', according to Design Q's co-founder Gary Doy. The belly of the A380 has been turned into a relaxation zone, including a Turkish bath lined with marble only two millimetres thick to keep the weight down.
Next door is a wellbeing room, with the floor and walls turned into a giant screen showing the ground down below. Guests can stand on a 'magic carpet' and watch the journey, a scented breeze blowing into the room.
If work really is unavoidable, the boardroom is on hand with iTouch screens and live share prices projected on to the tables. For conference calls, a business partner on the ground can be virtually projected on to the table to 'join' a meeting.
The five suites which form the owner's private quarters have king- size beds, entertainment systems and a prayer room featuring computergenerated prayer mats which always face Mecca. A lift shuttles between the plane's three floors, from the private quarters upstairs, down to the concert hall, featuring a baby grand piano and seating for ten, and to the garage below.
There are around 20 'sleepers' - the equivalent of First Class seats - for extra guests. According to the designers, the style is elegant curves and swirls of Arabic writing.

AND NOW THE LATEST NEWS !

Al-Waleed Spends $176 Million to Outfit His A380

After dropping close to $320 million on his new Airbus A380 jet, Prince Al-Waleed of Saudi Arabia is spending another $176 million on ultra-lavish modifications, including a $60 million gold leaf paintjob. An unnamed German company is customizing the interior of the plane to include:

  • A lounge to seat a traveling entourage of 25 trusted aides;
  • A marble-paneled dining room with seating for 14;
  • A bar with curtains to mimic tents of the Arabian Desert;
  • A fiber-optic mosaic that will depict a shifting desert scene;
  • A movie theatre with plush leather seats the color of sand dunes;
  • A series of bedrooms linked to stewardesses by intercom;
  • A gym with Nautilus equipment and running machines; and
  • A large silk bed designed to resemble a Bedouin tent that will be the centerpiece of the plane’s interior.

Reports speak of the decor as being “Lawrence of Arabia meets Star Wars.” Al-Waleed’s A380 will be completed in two years, and in the meantime he will cruise in his Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet.
