Before You Promise …
A fairly common saying (and excellent guideline) in the customer service arena is “Under Promise and Over Deliver.” People prefer to do business with companies and organizations that exceed expectations. This requires making and keeping promises carefully. Before you commit to something – whether it be for a customer or a member of your team – ask these questions:
- Can I really do this?
- Is there someone more appropriate?
- Can I do it in the promised time?
- Can I do this well?
- Will I do this with enthusiasm?
